Eddie Speed

Personal training from the nation's most experienced note buyer!

Eddie Speed began his career in 1980 as a note buyer and is currently President of Colonial Funding Group, LLC. He has introduced a number of innovations that have changed the way the industry operates today. His experience in managing a 2 person shop to a corporation with over 50 employees, and everything in between, gives him a unique perspective on what really works in the note business. With a lifetime volume of seller-financed notes topping $500 million, Eddie holds the distinction of brokering/reselling more notes than any other individual in the business. In fact, because of this experience, many A-list corporate real estate investors such as Homevestors of America (the “We Buy Ugly Houses” guys) turn to Eddie for assistance in developing owner-financed note systems.

One of Eddie’s great strengths has been his focus on the marketing plan. Eddie has spent literally millions of dollars on marketing throughout the years and based on all that pioneering data, he knows what actually works and what just sounds like a good idea. With his candid, tell-it-like-it-is style, Eddie is a popular speaker at conferences and real estate events throughout the country. As the recipient of the 2006 Industry Achievement Award, he has been featured in numerous industry articles, along with radio interviews surrounding the release of his new book, “Streetwise Seller Financing.” With over 25 years practical experience in the business, Eddie understands the challenges and rewards of being a real note buyer.

Through NoteSchool, Eddie has developed the largest and by far most complete broker mentoring program.
